 This original research explores how educators can   converse with students, listen to their answers, and accurately evaluate their comprehension just by listening.  The rubric for listening goes beyond right and wrong, to include what each student understands, what they confuse, and what is misunderstood in addition taking into consideration the number of words they use in attempting to explain what they know.
